Some cars just need a wash....However your has a story right?
Disaster Detailing (also called forensic detailing) is the pointy end of what we do at Two Step Detailing – the stuff other detailers politely decline while backing away from the vehicle.
We’re talking bodily fluids, needles, drug residue, fingerprint dust, hoarding, mould, mystery smells and the kind of aftermath only law enforcement can leave behind.
Is it glamorous? Absolutely not. Is it our thing? Absolutely.
We take on the jobs no one else wants, or knows how to handle properly, and bring them back to a safe, respectable, road-ready state – with zero judgement and total discretion.
When everyone else walked away our client came to us not realising there was still hope left. Read more on our case study by clicking the link below.

We only touch vehicles that have been signed off by police/investigators. We don’t interfere with active cases, TV dramas, or half-finished crime scenes.
Biohazards & Bodily Fluids
There are a hundred ways a vehicle can end up with bodily fluids inside. None of them are fun. All of them are serious. We deal with:
We are quick to isolate, remove, decontaminate and put safety ahead of “shiny Instagram finish” (though we like that too).
Needles, Sharps & Drug Residue
If your car has hosted some recreational chemistry, you don’t want to be guessing what’s left behind. We often see:
We go over the car inch by inch, remove sharps, treat contact points and bring the risk level back down to “normal life”, not an “episode of Narcos”.
Custom stickers are mounted on the windscreen showing a full clearance for ongoing efforts and other third parties.
After Police & Forensic Work
When law enforcement is done, the paperwork might be over – but your car often looks like evidence.
Common issues:
We use progressive, material-safe methods to remove fingerprint powders and residues, clean up the chaos and restore the interior as far as safely possible.
Hoarding, Neglect & “I’m Embarrassed to Show You” Cleans
(Yes there is such a thing)
We promise you: we’ve already seen worse. We handle:
Our approach is simple: no judgement, just a plan. You bring the problem; we bring the PPE, a plan, process and unreasonable levels of effort.
This isn’t a “premium interior detail” and a scented tree on the mirror.
This specialist remediation detailing service is less of a “spa day for your car” and more “hazmat meets restoration with OCD-level attention to detail”.
This is why most detailing shops say no. We built an entire service around saying yes – and doing it properly and love the constant positive feedback.

Insurance assessments start with industry standard testing, video, photography and documented findings. This process isa done without prejudice and totally impartial. We help let the evidence and findings drive your claims process.

Stolen cars often convey more than just the criminals. We often see stolen items, drugs and other paraphanalia. Don't risk your vehicle returning without a proper assessment and clearance.
Why Two Step Detailing?
We love deep diving into the “Too Hard Basket”
We’re known for taking on the ugly, technical and complicated jobs – severe paint correction, proper remediation and now full-on Disaster Detailing.
If a job is:
…when other shops say no. We lean in.
You can’t wing this stuff. We don’t try.
Our Disaster Detailing work is built on:
We’re upfront about:
Behind every disaster vehicle is a story. Sometimes it’s messy. Sometimes it’s heartbreaking. Sometimes it’s just a very bad weekend.
Tell us as much or as little as you’re comfortable with. We only need enough info to keep everyone safe and do elite-level work.
How Our Disaster Detailing Process Works
Every car is different. The framework isn’t.
You tell us what’s going on. No need for poetry. We ask direct, practical questions: fluids, needles, odours, visible damage, investigation history. If possible, you can send photos with anything sensitive blurred.
We inspect the vehicle – either at our premises or on-site by arrangement. We identify visible and likely hidden contamination points. You get a written scope and estimated pricing you can show an insurer, fleet manager or whoever signs off on these things.
The identified work area is set up and secured. Sharps, biohazards and heavily contaminated materials removed and handled correctly. We prevent cross-contamination instead of just spreading the problem around with a wet and dry vac.
We tackle the dismantling, removal and multi-stage cleaning of surfaces, cavities, seams and vents. We then set up a plan for 'Targeted Disinfection' – not “bucket of mystery chemical and a prayer”.
HVAC and ducting treated where practical, because smells and residues don’t respect boundaries. This may involve the use of Ozone treatment, replacing cabin filters even pulling carpets and underlay. Essentially we don't stop until the identified contamination is eliminated.
Final safety and practicality check – can you actually use this car again? We do a handover based on an honest conversation about what’s been fixed, improved, or is safely clean but permanently marked.
We provide a suite of before/after photos and a summary of work completed, so you can prove the vehicle’s been professionally remediated.
